My name is Rupert Taylor and I’m the chief executive of Kivue Viewed Limited. So I’ve just been absolutely delighted to give a brief talk about the PMOS in general over the last 30 minutes for Project Challenge. And actually the thing that we were really focusing on primarily is, how do you move from a process- driven administrative PMO that has the sort of perception of being bureaucratic and reporting focus to a more value-based PMO where the primary outcome is that you’re really genuinely delivering value to the organization
"Don't overcomplicate"
I think one of the points that I was trying to make to the conference was, you know, that is in all of our gifts. We’ve just got to make sure we don’t over complicate our tools, our messaging, our Brand PMO, etc. In the past, brand PMO has really had negative connotations to it, but it doesn’t need to. It’s a fantastic profession that we’re in and we’ve just got to look in the mirror sometimes and ask ourselves and challenge ourselves over how PmOS can deliver more value to their organization. Remember that eight out of ten members of the leadership team don’t really care about methodology, they’re not really interested, so let’s not use overcomplicated processes and tools. Let’s not not use Project Language. Let’s align with their language, ask them what the services that they need and align everything that we do to deliver value to those services. And that way, you know we become a genuine high value PMO for the future

Project Challenge
I think Project Challenge has been a fantastic event so far. There’s a lot of people here from all sorts of different industries and roles within the profession, running from program directors who are running major infrastructure programs. I’ve seen people from the NHS, we’ve got portfolio managers. PMO leads, etc. So it’s a really good opportunity for people to gather and talk around the topics that we all struggle with every day. But we and therefore we have in common. But you know we can share solutions and share ideas. So it’s great. It’s brilliant.
Kivue
Keviue Limited is a company that I founded ten years ago and we really have three. We specialise in POS and there are three elements to what we do. We have software that is designed to be as simple as it possibly can be to use, where the principles are no more than 15 minutes of input once a week or once a month and that generates all automated outputs. So just keeping it really simple and having the reports operating on a need to- no basis very concise, aligning with what the execs would typically want to see. They don’t generally want to see 30 – page powerpoint packs. Then on top of that we do we deliver PMO as a service. So we offer that as a solution where we put our team in to run the PMO with our library of tools and templates and our 30 decades of portfolio delivery experience. And then the third thing we do is PMO assessments where we will spend a couple of weeks assessing your PMO to determine number one where you are versus a next generation PMO and number two what remediation action you can take, most of which is pretty simple in order to make that shift. And that’s broadly what we do.
