I am Robert Downs, i am the Development Manager for the Federation of Small Businesses in Greater Manchester and this is our Network Media City event. This is a great event wed run in conjunction with Salford University, their business school. In fact they provide the venue they provide funding for, the food and the drink and it is a really great event. We run it quarterly. We usually see between 16 and 80 people and attendance. We have a multitude of business types from across Manchester and across the Media City. Office spaces who come here. It’s very relaxed, it’s over a few drinks.

We’re at the Media City campus at the Media Meetup event which is in conjunction of the FSB and really fantastic reaction of the companies. A lot of people turned up and yeah, it’s been great.

It’s a free fully funded service and it was great to be here today and meet such a wide range of businesses that are here that are dedicated to this space of networking and to be supported by the University of Salford in making that easier with the food and drink.
My name is, I raise money for businesses and I sell businesses and so the reason for coming to the FSB Thing Tonight was to meet new people.
You always learn something from meeting to new people and it’s something to be honest that I haven’t done for quite a while, probably since pre-covid. I’ve not done as much networking and I just saw this and I thought it was something I wanted to do.

So the aim of tonight is the Business Rates team under our Better Off Help for Business campaign are here to try and talk to business about their business weights, payments and see how we can help them. Because we obviously want the help, the businesses grow as much as we can
My name is Allison Alison Blacker and I run a business called Two Mines. I am most interested in how people think how people behave and why things don’t necessarily go the way they want. So I work with teams. I work with leaders. I work with individuals helping them understand themselves and their minds.
I love it when somebody is struggling with some conflict or something and I know that sounds mad, but’s something that then I can help put and make some sense about.
