Hannah Sinclair on Migrant talent, impact and opportunities

As well. I thought it was really good to hear those firsthand experiences.

I’m Hannah Sinclair and I work on the Hong Kong Welcome Program for the Department for Leveling Up Housing and Communities,

How did you find the event

I found the event really interesting so I work really closely with the Northwest Welcome Hub and Joe who organised the events and I found it really interesting just to hear the experiences, particularly of the Hong Kong BNO stakeholders who we support through the Hong Kong Welcome Program, as well as the experience of others and particularly the experience of those from Ukraine. As well.

The the stories inspire you

I thought it was really good to hear those firsthand experiences. I think it’s really sort of demonstrating how sort of the funding that we’re providing through government is really helping to make a difference to people’s lives. So, for example, the support that Christine Chan talked about getting from Y. Y. Which is one of the organationss we fund through the department, has really supported her to actually find her job, and it is great to hear that sort of feedback and that that support is really making a difference.

The positive impact

Yeah. I mean. I mean. I think what it demonstrates and what what’s so important is actually communities coming together to help those migrants who are coming over to the UK, but also the real importance of local businesses coming together as well. And I think it’s about those networks of support which will really help the migrants come over here to flourish.
