My name is Liz Boar, I’m a senior manager at MP and we’re opening an office in Manchester. We’re a project, program and portfolio management company, so that’s why we’re here today. At Project Challenge, we’ve got a panel at two o’clock to talk about project management and the challenges in the Northwest. So the reason why MP are here today is because we are opening an office in Manchester, setting up our Northwest Arm and we are here to support our industry of change professionals.
The Panelists
We’ve brought together a panel of three industries from the built environment, cybersecurity training and education. And we’re going to be hosting a panel to talk about.
What projects they’ve got on in the next five years and what are the challenges they’ve got in delivering that? To see if there are some synergies and also to include the audience to find out if anyone in the audience can help them with solutions.
Project Challenge
Project Challenge has been really good today, it’s been absolutely packed, which is great. It’s always good to see an event where it’s just change professionals where we can get together, talk about the pros and cons, talk about best practice recruiting skills, all of those kinds of things. So it’s great to be here at the Etihad and great to see so many friends and meet new people well today here at Project Challenge. There a lot of the sponsors are PPM tools and that’s been really interesting to speak to all of them because NP are a consultancy. So we need to know everything about all of the tools that are out on the market because it might be used by one of our clients. So today we’ve been very much learning about the most up-to-date versions of project software out on the market and also understanding how those firms have been working with the project’s industry to create tailored pieces of software so setting up our office in Manchester is going really well.
MP in Manchester
We are going to strength of strength. We’ve got new staff joining us on a monthbymonth basis, which is great. We’ve got new clients, we’re expanding our footprint in the Northwest and what’s really great is that we are now helping out the supporting agencies. So we have become a partner of the Growth Hub. We are delivering project management training to the Greater Manchester mayor’s charity and we are also in talks to do even more guest lectures and helping out secondary schools and primary schools in the Northwest.
